So Obama and Medvedev were caught having what they thought was a private chat at a nuclear summit in South Korea. Obama is overheard telling Medvedev that he needs ‘space’ on the contentious European missile defence shield nonsense, and that, after he is re-selected, he will have more ‘flexibility’, which presumably means he will finally scrap the plans to install missile bases in Poland and other Eastern European countries for the ridiculous purpose of protecting most of Europe from long-range missile strikes from Iran.
Supposedly, blogger and other news sites have jumped all over the ‘exposé’ as evidence of Obama’s ‘weakness, kowtowing to foreign governments or that he plans a much more radical second term’, assuming he is selected to be President again. All of which is rather bewildering, because no one seems to have understood the comments for what they are: clear evidence that US Presidents (and the public faces of most other major nations) will say whatever they need to say, to both the US public and foreign leaders (and anyone else who asks), in order to receive approval from their backers for re-selection. Once elected, they can, and will renege on all such promises and follow the agenda set for them by people who are, not only never caught on tape, but never actually seen.
As a rule, Israel (most accurately described, IMO, by a former French Ambassador to the UK as “that shitty little country”), only wages conventional war as a last resort, and even then, unlike the US of A, it lacks the manpower to invade and occupy foreign nations and must limit itself to blunt force bombing runs (or attacking Palestinian fishermen with gunboats). But the fact is that Israel doesn’t need to expend vast resources on conventional war, because there is another, equally (or perhaps more) effective way for such a pathologically-driven apartheid state to achieve its twisted objectives.
Yep, that’s right, ‘by way of deception’, or the ‘horse’s head in your bed’ school of diplomacy. To say that the Israelis are rather adept at this particular ‘art’ form is something of an understatement. Over the last 60 years, the Israeli elite have done more than any other group to successfully portray (to white Westerners) every single Muslim as potential ‘suicide bomber’. Their chosen method to achieve this screwed up state of affairs has been to manufacture ‘suicide bombings’ and then conveniently allow (or help) the blame to fall on some Muslim group. Of course, they’re also experts at covert assassination of innocent people, like Iranian scientists, French soldiers of Arab descent, and Jewish school-children abroad.
Basically, while the American’s chosen form of coercion is bombs, the Israelis believe that inducing psychological terror is the best way to achieve an objective. Israeli efforts at manipulating public perception involve the use of violence of course, but it is violence wrapped in a lie so insidious that even the victims are hoodwinked as to the identity of their aggressors.
Maybe I’m jaded, and have allowed the evils of this world to make me too cynical, but in light of US soldiers’ murderous rampage in Afghanistan, where up to 20 of them killed 17 civilians, including 9 children in their beds, I found the following video to be more nauseating than ‘cute’. In fact, if I were to dwell on it, I would probably end up thinking it is one of the most disgusting pieces of propaganda and double standards that I have seen in recent years. ‘Captain America’ indeed.
Staff Sgt. Robert Bales (left) one of up to 20 US Marines who massacred 16 Afghan villagers. Here he is seen training at a US military mock up of a typical 'rag-head ville'.
In response to the February 25th killing of two US soldiers by an unidentified Afghan, who was angered by the most recent “Koran burning” episode by the always sensitive US army, the Commander of US forces in Afghanistan, General John Allen, told US troops:
“There will be moments like this when you’re searching for the meaning of this loss. There will be moments like this, when your emotions are governed by anger and a desire to strike back. Now is not the time for revenge, now is not the time for vengeance, now is the time to look deep inside your souls, remember your mission, remember your discipline, remember who you are.”
An actual (no joke!) British government 'transport for London' poster.
A British teenager has been arrested and will appear in a UK court as a result of a comment he posted on Facebook about the deaths last week of six British soldiers in Afghanistan.
On March 8th, 19 year old Azhar Ahmed posted a comment on his Facebook page about the deaths of 6 British soldiers in Afghanistan on the 6th March. On the same day as Azhar’s post, a Facebook group entitled Azhar Ahmed Scumbag!!! was created (with large Union Jack flag as its logo) and, someone (perhaps the creator of the FB page) reported his comment to the police. The following day, Friday, Azhar was arrested and charged over the weekend. He was then released on bail and will appear in Dewsbury magistrates’ court on March 20th. A online petition has also been created that demands that Azhar be “sent to prison for hate crimes against British soldiers”.
Most disturbing here is not that there are many rabid Right Wing Authoritarian types on Facebook, but that the British police clearly took the complaint seriously and took the time and effort to investigate the matter and saw fit to send a squad car to Azhar’s house to arrest him. Read more »
The people behind this campaign are MASSIVELY misguided. Or it’s a CIA-sponsored psy-ops.
Take for example the fact that one of the 12 ‘policy makers’ (US politicians) that they are targeting to help them ensure Joseph Kony is arrested is George ‘Dubya’ Bush. The puppet president who presided over the murder of 1.5 million Iraqi civilians. And we’re all meant to believe that people like him are going to care about the plight of Ugandan children? Kony is Bush’s ideological brother for god’s sake.
Other than their complete ignorance of the fact that the US political elite is populated by the world’s worst war criminals, the makers of this video are also massively ignorant of the truth about WHY Uganda, and many other African nations, are subjected to the brutal excesses of war lords and have been for so many decades. About a year ago, I put together a short video that posed the question of whether or not the dumbed-down, brain dead future America depicted in the comedy movie ‘Idiocracy‘ was actually a close enough depiction of America today:
Today, I found more proof that, while there are many very disturbing aspects of our global society, America seems to be leading the charge towards the moral and intellectual bankruptcy of the experiment that was modern human society.
At first I thought it was a spoof, but apparently it’s not.
‘Ultimate Taser Ball’. Watch it and weep, or at least reflect on the type of society required to produce such an idiocy:
It’s official, the British people have a memory span just short of 9.5 years, at least according to David Cameron.
9.5 years ago, then UK Prime Minister and psychopath par excellence, Tony Blair, told the British people that Saddam Hussein could attack them with chemical weapons within 45 minutes. Those who had been keeping track of developments in the run-up to the Iraq invasion knew at the time that this claim was a despicable lie, within 9 months later (after the invasion had been launched of course) the claim would be widely acknowledged as a blatant lie designed to garner public support for the murder of 1.5 million Iraqi citizens and the theft of Iraqi resources. "I promised you we would win. We have won. Glory to Russia," Vladimir Putin said Sunday after a landslide victory in Russia's presidential election.
Let’s face it, most people don’t have the time, energy or inclination to try to separate truth from lies in our world today. The ability to do so is, however, crucial for many reasons. For over ten years, we here at Sott.net have been analysing and writing on what passes for the ‘news’ and we’ve come to a conclusion that may be of help to those who can’t, or won’t, do their own digging for the truth.
The conclusion is that you can, with a reasonable degree of certainty, assume that the truth about any major political event can be found more or less 180 degrees from what politicians or the media (especially US and European politicians and media) claim. Try it out. To do this, you have to do it consciously. So take any current major political news item in the media and, in your mind, flip it 180 degrees. When reading the headline or summary of a news item, simply reverse the statement that it makes. I can assure you that this 180 version will be a lot closer to the truth.
Take for example Vladimir Putin’s recent election victory. Check the headlines from major Western ‘news’ corporations and you’ll see that they all smear, subtly and not so subtly, Putin’s win with allegations of ‘corruption’. Rupert Murdoch’s Sky News went so far as to put ‘scare quotes’ around the words ‘wins election’. Virtually all other media outlets carried the same disparaging headline in one form or another, which is not surprising since there are about 3 or 4 actual Western ‘news’ agencies that report on events and then simply share the information with their subsidiaries. In this case, our 180 degree approach works rather well. Read more »
